There are multiple ways to deploy Chrome Enterprise using Jamf - see the guides at https://marketplace.jamf.com/details/google-chrome-for-macos for more options.
The example below is to demonstrate one way of deploying Chrome Enterprise.
(Note: This will deploy the latest version of Chrome Enterprise at the time of installation but will update on its own or at the interval you set moving forward)
Part 1: Download the "stable" Google Chrome Enterprise Browser .pkg for Mac
Part 2: Log in to your Jamf Dashboard @ YOUR-CLOUD-URL.jamfcloud.com
Part 3: Setup Jamf for Cloud Distribution
- Ensure that Cloud Distribution Point is enabled to allow package upload by clicking on "Settings" on the left side of the screen:
- Then click on "Server"
- Then click on "Cloud Distribution Point"
- Then click on "Edit"
- Then click on the Content Delivery Network dropdown and choose "Jamf Cloud"
- Then click on "Save"
Part 4: Setup Chrome Package
- Create Chrome Package by clicking on "Settings":
- Then click on "Computer Management"
- Then click on "Packages"
- Then click on "+ New"
- Click on "Choose File"
- Locate the "GoogleChrome.pkg" that you downloaded earlier, and double-click on it
- Click on "Save"
Part 5: Deploy Chrome to Devices
- Create Chrome Deployment Policy by clicking on "Computers":
- Click on "Policies" under the "Content Management" Heading
- Click on "+ New"
- Under the "General" options, give the policy the display name "Google Chrome - Deployment"
- Set the "Trigger" to "Recurring Check-In" and the "Execution Frequency" to "Once per computer"
- Click on "Packages"
- Click on "Configure"
- Click on "Add" for the "GoogleChrome.pkg" you created earlier
- Click on "Scope"
- Set the Scope for the devices that will receive the Chrome Browser. (Note: This is based on the needs of your organization and will differ for everyone)
- Click on "Save" to save the Policy
