HAN Proxy Configuration

Modified on Fri, 18 Oct at 5:25 PM

Third Iron products can be authenticated via HAN Proxy by H+H Software GmbH.

Third Iron integrates via the HAN Web API.  We recommend configuring the Web API before you start your trial.  The required bits of information you will be asked for in setting up the HAN Proxy from Third Iron are:

Resolved Proxy base URL

Provide her an example of a link to a piece of content with your proxy in use so we can see what a full URL looks like.

Fully Qualified DNS Name of your HAN server

Example: https://han.domain.edu/hanapi/

HAN Hash Salt

HAN Hash Algorithm (MD5 or SHA1)

ID of the Configured HAN API (browzine, libkey or custom)

Test Credentials of the proxy for testing

Creating a Web API for use by Third Iron in the HAN Settings

To do so, select Web API and then click the "+" as shown to create a new Web API.  We recommend using the Creating and forwarding option.

When you then configure an API you need to provide an ID (Here we've used "libkey") and a Description (Here we've used "For use by Third Iron").

Next, ensure the Search mode matches what is shown below with all these items CHECKED.

Finally, set a Hidden salt value (For example we used here "prsq4275") and we selected the Hash Algorithm of "MD5".

Click OK to save.

You can then provide the ID and Hash Salt and Algorithm to Third Iron Support via a secure ticket or as part of your trial request form.

Additional information can be found on this manual page from H+H regarding configuring the Web API.
